The only fee
5% of a bond, taken only when the recipient marks a knock as spam (SPAM_FEE_BPS = 500). Replies and expiries take nothing.
Where the fee goes
All of it buys D00R on the open market and burns it, through crank_burn, which anyone can call. No wallet of ours is in the loop. Claiming an inbox name burns D00R directly.
Worked example
$1,000,000 of bonds knocked in a month.
| Spam share | To recipients | Bought and burned | Back to senders |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0% | $0 | $0 | $1,000,000 |
| 10% | $95,000 | $5,000 | $900,000 |
| 100% | $950,000 | $50,000 | $0 |
The burn follows spam, not volume. An inbox world full of honest messages burns nothing and costs senders nothing.
Who shows up first, and why
- The recipient puts the link in a bio first. They pay nothing to answer and earn from spam.
- The sender comes because the link is the way in. An honest knock costs only the network fee.
Burn limits
Each crank_burn call:
- spends fees only, never bonds;
- gets at least 98% of what the pool's 30-minute time-weighted price pays;
- uses at most 0.1% of the pool's input reserve.
Before launch the D00R token does not exist. Fees wait in the fee vault until the burn pool is configured at launch (BurnPoolNotSet until then).
